We’ll Miss You, New York.

“Like a true nature’s child we were born, born to be wild.”

Sitting on my couch looking out the window across the Hudson River, north to the shrouded George Washington Bridge on this misty morning, I am overcome with cabin fever, wanting to burn through fog that hovers over the bridges of my mind. My Zabars coffee is cold from the mere 5 minute walk back home. I step out onto the patio and the wind whips passed like any other New Yorker in a rush. Riverside Park is teeming with quietude, and I can’t help but feel an overwhelming sense that there is so much of this nation that I still want to see. And Ollie the adventure pup wants more adventure. So we’re heading out on the road to explore America – looking for the niches of outdoor enthusiasts, hikers, and trailblazers – discovering the paths they’ve forged and forging some of our own. First stop – Tennessee, to visit a lifelong soul sister and dear friend, then onto Colorado for some high altitude climbs! The goal is to complete as many pivotal hikes as we can, and provide regional hiking guide coverage for the following states: Tennessee, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, and California — all the while putting the finishing touches on an official regional New York hiking guide before I hand it over for printing. See you in the Spring for more yoga hikes, retreats and lots of wacky trail stories! Love.
