Crown Point Park

Home ⎟  Hikes & Wanderings ⎟  New YorkAdirondacks ⎟  Crown Point Park

At the bridge between Vermont & New York, you’ll find a magical place to meander along Lake Champlain and Bulwagga Bay. I usually use this as a break spot to stretch and let Ollie run around, when driving to and from northern Vermont. Within the park, visit Orchard Point at its northern end, providing excellent views of the shoreline mountains of the Adirondack Park.  The Samuel de Champlain Monument is another distinctive point of interest, as is Coffin Point.

Trailhead Directions: From Burlington, Vermont, take US-7 South 12 miles to then turn right onto VT-22A South. Continue 7.5 miles to then turn right on VT-17 West. Continue for 8.4 miles, with the Adirondack Mountains looming in the distance straight ahead, and eventually you’ll cross the Lake Champlain Bridge. Take the first left after the bridge and tollhouse.

Dog Friendly: A beautiful place to spend a few hours with the pooch.
