America, the Beautiful…

In April 2016, I drove across the United States for the first time. I was excited yet admittedly nervous about what could possibly be out there, what could befall a woman traveling alone with her Golden Retriever pup and Maine Coon cat. Apparently there’s something about driving across America that sets my soul on fire, because it’s over a year later and I’ve driven back and forth across the continent six more times. This last trip was by far the most scenic, stopping to wander through fields of wildflowers in Iowa, and taking the backroads through Colorado, Arizona and southern California. I implore everyone to do what they can together and as individuals to protect this beautiful land so many people from so many different walks of life call “home.” Our differences, and our ability to both appreciate and look beyond them to come together is what makes America such a special place.
