Driving Directions: From the Bear Mountain Bridge, head east across the bridge and make a LEFT onto Route 9D North.  Take Route 9D North 9.6 miles, passing through Cold Spring and soon after turning LEFT into the Little Stony Point Parking Area.  If the lot is full, there is another lot across the street as well – trailhead parking area for Mount Taurus.

Hike Directions: From the Little Stony Point Parking Area, go uphill and beyond the parking area and cross a pedestrian bridge over the Metro-North Railroad. Just beyond the bridge you’ll come to a three-way intersection of unmarked paths.  Continue onto the middle path, straight ahead.  This will take you to a beautiful vista over the Hudson (just 0.2 miles beyond the intersection of trails).  From the vista, continue on the same path, eventually descending down hill to another three-way intersection where you’ll again, continue straight, this time heading down to the beach.  Once at the beach, you’ll find there’s a mile of shoreline to explore and enjoy.  To return from whence you came, return to the 2nd intersection of paths and turn RIGHT, walking around the shore to a viewpoint south. Continue a tenth of mile to the 1st intersection of trails and make a RIGHT to get back to the parking area.

Scenery: 8/10
