Hike Description: A wildflower bespeckled hike through coastal canyon and deep forest to the top of Doud Peak (1,977 feet).

Directions to Trailhead: From the Monterey, take the Pacific Coast Highway / California 1 south to Garrapata State Park and park under the Cypress trees near gate 8.

Hike Directions: From the trailhead take the Soberanes Cyn Trail through the canyon as it moves away from the coast, soon entering into verdant forest. Walk along streams, climb dirt-packed wooden stairs, and ascend steeply to an intersection with the Rocky Ridge Peak Trail near the top of Doud. Turn right here and continue to the summit. On the return, stay on the Rocky Ridge Peak Trail.
