Hike Directions: From the DEC trailhead parking at the end of Dennings Road, enter the woods on the Yellow Blazed Phoenecia-East Branch Trail, walking parallel to the East Branch of the Neversink River, a 55-mile long tributary of the Delaware River. 1.2 miles after the parking area, you’ll reach an intersection of trails and veer right onto the blue-blazed Peekamoose-Table Mountain trail. At 2.75 miles from this intersection, you’ll reach the summit of Table.  Watch for trails coming in from the left and heading sharply down the mountain. These are a mix of herd paths an paths carved by hikers to reach the Bushwack Range: Lone Mountain, Rocky Mountain, Balsam Cap and Friday Mountain. The views the the left are of these very mountains. Continue beyond the tree-covered summit of Table to the summit of Peekamoose, less than a mile away (0.85 miles). From here you’ll get some sweeping views into the interior of the Slide Mountain Wilderness and Sundown Wild Forest. Retrace your steps to return to the parking area.
