Description: This hike immediately begins a relatively steep climb up to Popolopen Torne (elev.  942 feet), a bald mountain that stands out prominently in the Hudson Valley landscape.  Take the BLUE-BLAZED Timp-Torne Trail 0.52 miles to its summit.  Its bald peak offers 360° views – sweeping from the Hudson River and its valley are to be had in all directions.  Bear Mountain looms directly south, next to the Hudson River, and directly north lies the mountains of West Point.  From here, retrace your steps or continue following the BLUE-BLAZED loop until you reach Mine Road (the first road you come to), and make a LEFT back to your car.
