Distance: 9 mile out and back; 12.08 mile loop

Time: 2 hour 45 minute out & back; 6 hour loop

Difficulty: Easy-Moderate

Elevation Gain: 100 feet out and back; 500 feet for the loop

Driving Directions: From the George Washington Bridge, take exit 73 toward US-9W/NJ-67/Fort Lee. Keep right and follow the signs for Hudson Terrace. Turn left onto Hudson Terrace and after 1.5 miles, turn right onto Alison Park Road. The trailhead parking is on the left.

Hike Directions: Find the TEAL-BLAZED Long Path Blazes. Follow the teal blazes and in .75 miles, pass the yellow blazed Dyckman Hill Trail to your right. Continue another half mile to High Tom, a beautiful overlook.  After 3 miles pass a junction with the red blazed Huyler’s Landing Trail.  Continue on the TEAL BLAZES another half mile to Alpine Lookout, then retrace your steps to the RED-BLAZES. From here, for a shorter hike you can simply retrace your route on the Long Path back to Alison Park.  For a longer excursion, take the RED-BLAZED Huyler’s Landing Trail. Turn ing LEFT and following it for half a mile down the cliff and make a RIGHT at the bottom on the WHITE-BLAZED Shore Trail.  Stay on the Shore Trail for 5.21 miles, passing Ross Dock and soon after making a RIGHT the BLUE-BLAZED Carpenter’s Trail.  Follow the Carpenter’s Trail for a tenth of a mile to its terminus at the Long Path and make a RIGHT. Take the Long Path a tenth of a mile back to your car in the Alison Park Parking Lot.
