Trailhead Directions: From the NYS Thruway, take exit 13N for the Palisades Interstate Parkway and continue 6.2 miles to exit 13 for US-202 toward Haverstraw/Suffern. Turn right onto Thiells Mt Ivy Road, then turn right onto US-202 West and continue 2.6 miles. The trailhead will be a narrow road on your left.

Hike Directions: From the trailhead, take the red blazed Pine Meadow Trail 0.85 miles to an intersection of three trails (a yellow trail, red trail and yellow/red trail). Turn right onto the yellow blazed Suffern-Bear Mountain Trail. After a quarter of a mile you’ll reach the summit of Panther Mountain, which has great views of the New York City and the Hudson River. 1.2 miles after joining the yellow blazes, you’ll come to a a 4-way intersection where you’ll go right, departing from the yellow blazes and continuing on the red blazed Tuxedo-Mt Ivy Trail for 0.4 miles. When you reach the next fork, keep right on the red blazes, reaching a nice northeastern overlook in a quarter of a mile. Three-quarters of a mile from the fork, you’ll turn right onto a flat, unmarked path that runs parallel to the pipeline. Reaching a fork in 800 feet, veer left on the flat path and continue 0.25 to a stream bed where you’ll veer onto the pipeline area and continue 0.57 miles back to the red blazed Pine Meadow Trail and make a left. n 0.34 miles, you’ll arrive back at the parking lot.
