The 560-mile trail runs from Aleghany Park in Salamanca, NY (at the Pennsylvania/New York border) through to the Catskill Mountains in Walton, NY.  While not as popular as the Appalachian Trail or even the Long Path, the Finger Lakes Trail is the perfect trail for scenic views, waterfalls, and solitude.  You’ll pass the gorgeous Letchworth Falls (Letchworth State Park), as well as a labyrinth of boulders in Rock City State Forest (Ellicottville, NY), a great rock climbing excursion.
